San Miguel Lions Club Fish Fry is back!  Beginning Friday, Feb. 24 and continuing for 7 Fridays, you can purchase a fried fish dinner, freshly prepared by Lions at the San Miguel Community Building in the alley of the park.   By purchasing a dinner you will  support their project to keep summer swimming pool available to children for free.  Dinners are available from 4-7pm. each Friday for $10.  That includes fish, coleslaw, french fries, a cold drink and ice cream cup.  What a deal!   Feel free to dine in or take out.   For more information call 805-459-4722.

San Miguel Sagebrush Days will step off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21.
Parade Theme is "The Old West". Events include a Peddlers' Faire, Apple Pie Cook-off (please bring pies in disposable tins), Rib Cook-off and Quick-Draw Shoot-out. Help with Food Bank Distribution:  Every 1st and 3rd Thursday help is needed unloading , bagging, and boxing food for distribution.  This takes place at the Senior Center on 12th St. from 7:30 am until 8:45.  Anyone wishing to help  or get more information can contact the Senior Center or the Food Bank  at  (805) 238-4664

Community Health Center (CHC) to Reopen in San Miguel on April 2
We are pleased to announce that CHC has almost completed all the required facility updates to the San Miguel health center and will be re-opening it's doors to patients on April 2nd, 2012!  
Physician's Assistant Jennifer Holohan, PA-C will return to provide primary care services on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30—5:30 (closed 12:30-1:30 for lunch), and on Fridays from 8:30-12:30pm.  Marcelo Almaguer will provide health education counseling.

  The San Miguel Library is located at 254 13 th Street next to the baseball diamond. Open hours are 12 to 4 Tuesday, 11am to 4 Wednesday, and 12 to 6pm Thursday. The library has a nice selection of children's books and adult fiction and non-fiction books, books-on-CD, music CDs, magazines, and dvds. The Native Daughters of the Golden West Student Art Contest 2012-----The NDGW, San Miguel Parlor 94, in conjunction with the statewide NDGW, is sponsoring a student art talent contest to encourage the interest of students and the general public in the historic and natural wonders of California. The theme is teamwork. Open to all students in grades 9 thru 12 in any school in San luis Obispo County. The subject must be an original depiction of a California landmark, native plant, wildlife, event or people that are part of California history. Deadline to enter is April 1, 2012 at 5:00PM.
